Cover and duration
This workmanship warranty covers peeling, delamination, bubbling, blistering or failure of the coating to cure correctly where caused by defective surface preparation, mixing or application by Vantage Coatings. It applies to the areas and coating system identified in your written quote and completion record. Your completion record will identify the completion date, applicable warranty period and written curing and care instructions.
The period starts on the completion date recorded at handover. A covered defect must first appear within the relevant period. Let us know as soon as reasonably practicable after you notice it. Your statutory rights may continue beyond these warranty periods.
What we will do
We will assess your claim and, where the defect is covered, repair the affected coating at no charge for the required labour and materials. We will explain the findings and proposed remedy and arrange the work within a reasonable time. A repair may have a visible colour or texture difference because of weathering or product variation; we will discuss this before repair. These arrangements do not limit any remedy you are entitled to under law.
Limits of this workmanship cover
This additional warranty does not cover a problem to the extent it is caused by:
- Movement, cracking or failure of the underlying concrete, or moisture and hydrostatic pressure unrelated to defective preparation, assessment or application by Vantage.
- Impact, abrasion, chemical spills, hot-tyre staining, misuse, or damage caused by other trades or later alterations.
- Using the surface before the written cure period, or failing to follow reasonable written care instructions, where that caused the damage.
- Ordinary wear, staining or gradual weathering and colour change that is not caused by defective workmanship.
These exclusions do not excuse defective workmanship or remove rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law. Telling you about a risk does not waive your statutory rights. A floor coating is not a guarantee against slipping.
How to make a claim
- Contact Vantage using the email, phone or business address above. Give your name, job address, completion date or approximate installation date, and a description of the problem. Include an invoice or other evidence of the work and photos if available; contact us if you need help locating the record.
- We will discuss the issue, request any necessary information and arrange a reasonable inspection where needed. Please allow reasonable access and take practical steps to prevent further damage.
- We will record your claim, explain our assessment and whether the issue is covered, and confirm the next steps with you in writing. Contact us before arranging non-urgent repair by someone else so we can assess the original condition. This does not restrict emergency action or statutory remedies.
Claim expenses
There is no fee to lodge a claim. Vantage will bear its assessment and repair costs for a valid claim and reimburse reasonable expenses you incur in making that claim. Send receipts or other supporting evidence to the contact above. Please discuss proposed inspection or third-party costs with us where practicable. Any charge for work outside the warranty must be explained and agreed before that work proceeds. Your legal rights to recover costs or losses remain unaffected.
Manufacturer cover
This document provides Vantage's workmanship warranty. Any additional manufacturer warranty depends on the products supplied and the manufacturer's written terms. Where we offer that additional cover, we will identify the product and provide the applicable terms with your job documents. No manufacturer warranty period is promised by this document.
You can contact Vantage about the supplied work; you do not have to rely solely on a manufacturer. Our workmanship warranty is not conditional on a manufacturer accepting a claim or reimbursing Vantage. Manufacturer cover does not reduce our obligations to you.
Your statutory rights
The benefits of this workmanship warranty are additional to your other rights and remedies under law. Its periods, exclusions and repair process do not limit those rights.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
